Great work you'll do here:

The Enterprise Director of Clinical Excellence and Integrity has operational and functional responsibility for assessing, planning & implementing evidenced based educational programs to maintain and advance the practice of nursing, therapy and social services. They assist the Executive Vice President Operations Clinical & Patient Experience - Hospice at Home, and Clinical and Compliance Officer in executive-level management of resources, strategic planning and development of policies and procedures which ensure congruence with the mission and philosophy of the organization.

  • Adheres to all regulatory requirements and professional standards.
  • In collaboration with the Executive Vice President Operations Clinical & Patient Experience - Hospice at Home, and Clinical and Compliance Officer and corporate colleagues, formulates policies and procedures consistent with recognized standards of professional practice and reflecting the intent of standards promulgated by ACHC and each state our services are provided.
  • Formulates goals, objectives, and action plans for education, consistent with the goals and mission of the Institute.
  • Participates in development and implementation of evidenced based educational programs ensuring that the programs address the assessed learning needs of the organization's clinical and ancillary staff.
  • Is actively involved in both the retention and recruitment of staff.
  • Reviews requests from schools of nursing, therapy and social work for clinical placement. Establishes an environment conducive to positive learning experience for students and faculty. Ensures that schools faculty adhere to organization's policies and procedures.
  • Identifies system problems or inefficiencies, which may negatively affect patient care. Identifies potential solutions, involving peers, and subordinates in the process.
  • Assumes primary responsibility for projects or task groups as assigned, keeping colleagues informed of the progress toward desired outcome.
  • Assumes charge responsibilities for the Department in the absence of the Executive Vice President Operations Clinical & Patient Experience - Hospice at Home, and Clinical and Compliance Officer as delegated.
  • Furthers the mission of the organization and encourages staff to be ambassadors for Intrepid USA.
  • Ensures that there is adherence to patient confidentiality rules as defined through HIPAA. Is able to define own level of access for minimum necessary requirements.
  • Is involved in team dynamics activities. Participates in service enhancement initiatives that enhance patient care.
  • Coaches and develops clinical supervisors & administrators.
  • Ensures fair and consistent application of policies and procedures for all staff members. Is available to management staff for questions/clarification.
  • Fosters effective communication by scheduling frequent meetings with subordinate staff.
  • Ensures that employee performance problems or inappropriate behaviors are managed effectively through the counseling/progressive discipline process in collaboration with Human Resources.
  • Fosters independence and autonomy in all staff members in areas of responsibility. Actively seeks those activities which promote/encourage independent thinking/problem solving behaviors.
  • Monitors unit/area expenditures and assists unit/area managers in justifying or correcting variances.
  • Actively participates in cost management initiatives, identifying areas of inefficiencies or waste that requires greater control. Provides suggestions for cost savings initiatives.
  • Collaborates with administrators to ensure that identified learning needs of the staff are promptly addressed and that orientees receive the proper preparation to become independent practitioners.
  • Provides subordinates with timely, thorough and constructive feedback on performance.
  • Makes suggestions for areas that need improvement.
  • Works collaboratively with other patient care and support departments, fostering a climate of open communication and mutual problem solving activities to ensure nursing education objectives are met. Initiates and participates in joint quality improvement activities.
  • As assigned, represents the department on committees.
  • Serves as a department liaison to other departments as requested in order to collaborate on projects and performance improvement.
  • Assumes responsibility for continuing education and developmental needs. Participates in relevant conferences and other professional activities to maintain clinical knowledge and management skills. Shares the information gleaned with peers and subordinates.
  • Participates in professional organizations and community healthcare related organizations.
  • Serves as a positive, professional role model to the organization.
  • Fosters positive public relations for the organization.
  • Completes other assignments and duties as requested and assigned to accomplish the goals and objectives of the Company

  • Demonstrate abilities to stimulate nursing education through positive interpersonal relationships, excellent communication skills, and problem solving behaviors.
  • Demonstrate organizational ability and initiative to manage multiple complex projects and priorities.
  • Demonstrate abilities to control expenses, curtail costs while delivering a quality product.
  • Demonstrate leadership and management skills which facilitate conflict resolution and promote staff motivation and development.
  • Appropriate judgment and critical thinking in decisions that requiring consideration of regulatory compliance, customer service, patient welfare and company interests
  • Outstanding presentation, writing and communication skills
  • Promotes the agency through positive representation and communication of its services
  • Capable of using professional judgement to delegate selected tasks
  • Strong ability to be the public face of the organization, and serve as an advocate for Home Healthcare, Home Hospice and other service lines
  • Creative thinker who embraces thought leadership
  • Capable of making challenging decisions and willing to take responsibility for them.
  • Master's degree in nursing preferred - not required
  • Six (6) years of experience in home health and hospice including two (2) year experience in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, a managerial or executive capacity.
  • Current Registered Nurse licensure (in good standing) in the state(s) of practice
  • Current CPR certification
  • Valid driver's license and automobile insurance
