What we’re looking for

The Enterprise Compliance Manager oversees the development, enhancement, and implementation of the company’s Compliance Management System (CMS) designed to ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations. The primary responsibilities of this role include overseeing all activities related to state and federal regulatory examinations of Toyota Motor Credit Corporation’s (TMCC) business operations and is a direct point of contact regarding regulatory matters arising from state and federal examinations. The incumbent is also responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s regulatory change management program to ensure TMCC’s compliance with new/revised laws and regulations that apply to our business operations.

As the primary liaison with state and federal regulators, the Enterprise Compliance Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of state and federal examinations, including but not limited to, reviewing and analyzing examination requests to confirm the scope and review period, identifying the TMCC licenses for the examination, facilitating the collection of information responsive to examination requests and validating that the information accurately responds to the requests. Additionally, this person is responsible for communicating directly with state and federal regulators throughout the exam life cycle including, but not limited to, providing responses for all information requests and communicating any actions on behalf of TMCC. The Enterprise Compliance Manager is also responsible for facilitating business process reviews with various levels of TMCC leadership throughout the organization and providing guidance on the content for deliverables to prepare TMCC leadership for presentations upon request by the regulators. Upon conclusion of an examination, this person is responsible for communicating any findings to TMCC leadership for remediation and communicating any follow-up actions to the regulators, as required.

The Enterprise Compliance Manager is also responsible for overseeing and managing TMCC’s regulatory change management program to ensure relevant regulations are reviewed, analyzed, and dispositioned as appropriate. This requires an understanding of the regulations and TMCC’s business operations to identify any gaps that must be addressed in order to be compliant with the regulation.

The Enterprise Compliance Manager will enhance the growth and development of four Sr. Compliance Analysts who will have the day-to-day responsibility over these areas as a key responsibility of this position.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead and manage a comprehensive regulatory examination program designed to facilitate state and federal examinations of TMCC’s operations.
  • Review and analyze examination requests to determine review period and scope.
  • Facilitate information request reviews with the appropriate business units and provide guidance as applicable.
  • Facilitate the collection of information responsive to examination requests from the appropriate business unit and validate information is accurate and responsive.
  • Provide responses to regulators and facilitate communications with regulators concerning TMCC’s actions and/or progress.
  • Coordinate reviews of TMCC’s operations between business and regulators.
  • Collaborate with TMCC Legal to review examination requests and discuss areas of concern and provide guidance to the business.
  • Coordinate the closing of exams and communicating findings to the appropriate business unit for remediation.
  • Track the conclusion of examinations and any follow-up required by the regulators.
  • Develop and implement reporting for exams for the business, Sr. Leadership, and BCOC.
  • Lead and manage a comprehensive regulatory change management program designed to ensure TMCC’s compliance with new laws and regulations.
  • Oversee reviews performed by Sr. Analyst to document the business impact analysis for new laws and regulations impacting TMCC business operations.
  • Ensure actions plans are developed for regulatory changes to ensure compliance.
  • Develop and implement reporting for regulatory changes and action plans for the business, Sr. Leadership, and BCOC.
  • Capture voice of the customer to enhance the eGRC system for regulatory change management.
  • Represents compliance management on policy matters affecting the company’s operations, communicating and addressing day-to-day issues that arise from internal and external partners, and responds to ad hoc inquiries.
  • Participates in compliance related training opportunities (on-line training, seminars, conferences, etc.) in order to maintain current knowledge of new compliance issues and/or regulatory developments.
  • Develop reporting and escalation processes to ensure management is informed of the status, results, and impact of examination and regulatory change management activities.
  • Review the financial services industry and regulatory environment for changes to relevant laws, regulations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor regulatory compliance developments and ensure that impact is properly evaluated and required actions are developed as required.
  • Identify and implement best-in-class processes and communication for the examination and regulatory change management programs.
  • Maintain an understanding of the Federal and State laws and regulations impacting TMCC.
  • Maintain an understanding of business units and functional areas processes to maintain adherence to laws and regulations.
  • Travel and attend any relevant compliance-related conferences as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent professional work experience
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in a compliance role
  • Strong regulatory knowledge required
  • Strong knowledge of compliance management system(s)
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint

  • TMCC knowledge or other auto lender preferred
  • People leadership experience with proven ability to grow and develop a team
  • Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) Certification
  • National Automotive Finance (NAF) Certification
