POSITION: Enrollment Technician
SALARY: $19.04 - $22.08, per hour
REPORTS TO: Enrollment Officer
LOCATION: Enrollment, Nespelem, WA
Basic Functions: Provides customer service and assistance to tribal members, tribal programs, affiliated entities, and visitors. Coordinate a variety of duties involved in the collection, interpretation and documentation of data in support of genealogy research and/or information.

Education and Training:
- Typically requires an Associate’s Degree and work related experience demonstrating the ability to perform the functions of the position.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Requires general knowledge of Tribal documents regulating enrollment policies such as Tribal Constitution and By-Laws, Chapters, and Colville Business Council resolutions.
- Requires extensive knowledge of research techniques used when searching for historical data needed as a basis for making recommendations on enrollment criteria for enrollment cases, petitions for blood degree corrections.
- Must possess mathematical skills sufficient to calculate blood degrees/quantum. Requires work experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Internet, and Outlook. Requires the willingness to learn and operate other software programs needed to carry out basic enrollment function.
- Requires the ability to interpret Department, Bureau, and Tribal policies and regulations affecting Trial membership and Tribal Enrollment for guidance of the Tribal Government Committee of the Colville Business Council.
- Requires the ability to conduct and communicate genealogy research with the membership.
- Requires the ability to collect sensitive data from individuals.
- Requires the ability to operate basic office equipment, including but not limited to: computer, fax machine, 10-key/calculator, multi-line telephone, ID System, copy machine, etc.
- Requires the ability to establish and maintain positive communication with all persons who have business with the Enrollment department. Requires the ability to maintain a professional attitude and control a hostile environment with angry or difficult individuals.
- Requires the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
- Requires ability to complete special projects requiring ability to coordinate internal and external resources.
- Requires the ability to effectively communicate, problem solve and provide solutions to resolve issues with accuracy and detail.
- Requires the ability to communicate in both written and verbal format.
- Requires the ability to exercise independent discretion, judgement, be self-motivated, and have good work ethics.
- Requires the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Requires the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Note: Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.

If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ Vehicle Insurance. In addition, this position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances. If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
