Job Title: Enrollment Specialist

Reports To: Director of Enrollment Services

Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree
• Driver’s license and clean driving record

Preferred Qualifications: • One-year sales, mass and individual marketing, social media, public relations experience

Abilities: • Ability to interact with students, staff and community in a pleasant, tactful & courteous

manner

Position Summary: This position acts as the primary contact for all students in recruiting, admission,
enrollment and

advising activities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to interacting with potential
students and their families to promote and increase enrollment by attending a variety of
recruiting events; providing campus tours to students and groups; assisting students with
admission, enrollment, and advising.

Essential Job Functions: • Provide high quality customer services to students, parents and others through
information, admissions, enrollment, and advising processes

  • Organize and give campus tours with potential students and groups
  • Council and advise students to determine appropriate courses based on their
assessment scores, certificate or degree goals, and transferability goals
  • Enter student applications into SONIS
  • Work with faculty, learning resources, other student services staff, and academic
employees to make certain student academic advising needs are being met
  • Work with other colleges to keep transferability information current and accurate
  • Keep accurate records on advising activities with students
  • Assist with assessment, graduation checks, career placement activities, and job
preparation
  • Attend local and regional career fairs/meetings/seminars, CPC conferences, high
schools, and other events related to the dissemination of college information
  • Promote and represent College at public relations events, promotional opportunities,
marketing campaigns, business/committee meetings, and press/publicity functions
  • Train and assist student recruiters in process of advising students and families
concerning admission requirements, financial aid/scholarship, college policies and
procedures
  • Coordinate and conduct recruitment process for students including call-backs,
interviewing, notifications, mass emails, other mass and individual communication
processes
  • Coordinate and facilitate open house and other recruitment events
  • Develop and utilize a variety of methods of student recruitment and social marketing
to increase enrollment - recruiting fairs, conferences, mailings, and electronic social
networking
  • Assist with campus promotional events - car shows, enrollment days, new student
orientation, appreciation events, graduation, etc
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external agencies including local workforce
development, WIOA, Job Service Center, VocRehab, Salina Adult Education Center
and others
  • Create and deliver verbal, visual, electronic recruiting presentations - to various
audiences to increase enrollment and provide educational information
  • Develop advanced knowledge of all aspects of college systems including admissions,
registration, financial aid, instruction, college policy and procedures
  • Work closely with Concurrent Enrollment Specialist to develop and maintain strong
relationships with high school counselors, instructional staff and potential students
interested in technical education careers
  • Be an active member of KACRAO and other applicable professional groups for
college admissions/recruitment
  • Attend professional development events to gain necessary information for position
  • Attend meetings, serve on committees, and work closely with faculty, administration
and staff
  • Support the vision, mission, and policies of Salina Area Technical College
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements: • Occasional physical exertion to manually lift, carry, push, pull or move objects or
materials less than 50 pounds

  • Generally, involves 60% sitting, 20% walking and 20% standing, however some days
may require more walking and standing
  • Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching
  • Requires acute hearing and speaking skills
  • Requires fine dexterity to type, enter data and provide written communications
  • Use of standard office equipment including computers and general office equipment
  • Work is performed in a busy and noisy environment
  • Requires prolonged sitting or standing
  • Requires traveling to various sites
  • May require evening and weekend work

Exemption Status: Hourly Non-Exempt

Classification: Professional/Technical – Full-time

Schedule: Typically, 7:30 – 4:30 M-F, occasional evenings and weekends

Pay Rate: $21-28, dependent on qualifications
