San Francisco Bay University (SFBU), a small-sized nonprofit, WASC-accredited, university situated in the heart of Silicon Valley in Fremont, California, seeks an innovative and experienced enrollment professional to serve as an Enrollment Counselor. SFBU is a new and rebranded university currently offering degrees in computer science (BS, MS), electrical engineering (MS), business (BABS/MBA), and professional educational programs.

Position Overview:
Reporting to the Executive Director of Enrollment, the Enrollment Counselor plays a vital role as an Enrollment team member, actively involved in recruiting and enrolling students through visiting community colleges and community organizations for information sessions, attending college fairs, workshops, and coordinating or participating in additional programming. This is a full time exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Primary Responsibilities:
● Actively recruit and enroll students.
● Manage assigned geographic areas, including travel locally and possibly out of state.
● Coordinate and implement outreach and yield activities. Compile, analyze, and report data for the assigned areas; report on trends within areas; report regularly on admissions funnel for areas and recruitment/yield activities throughout funnel.
● Participates in admissions events.
● Demonstrates a thorough understanding and alignment with the university’s mission, vision, and values.
● Stays up to date on the university’s academic programs, support services, and co-curricular offerings.
● Provides exceptional customer service by promptly responding to inquiries/requests, providing clear and accurate information, and maintaining positive relationships.
● Collaborates with faculty, staff, alumni, students, and high school and community college teachers and counselors to coordinate recruitment efforts.
● Counsels and guides applicants through admission policies and procedures.
● Offers solutions to applicant inquiries and concerns regarding admission.
● Evaluates applications for admission and follows up with applicants.
● Assists in the creation of promotional materials for admissions programs and activities.
● Maintains strict confidentiality of records, correspondence, and sensitive information.
● Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree.
● 1-2 years of direct admissions experience; related experience; or equivalent combination of experience, training, and/or education;
● Must be able to travel in state and out of state. Will be required to work evenings and weekends as well as extended hours during peak periods.

● Knowledgeable of higher education admissions and general university functions and services.
● Proficient with computers, including browser-based software services, Microsoft Office, CRMs, and email.
Salary range $70,000, dependent on experience.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
● Must be able to lift and carry up to 20lbs.
● The employee is required to crouch, walk, reach, grasp, carry, and push.
● The employee is occasionally required to sit or stand for long periods.
