English Teacher - Clearway High School

Clearway High School, a program of the Adult Learning Center, was established in 1977 as an alternative High School program for teenagers who need a specialized setting to successfully earn a High School diploma or prepare for the HiSet. Clearway’s mission is to educate teenagers so they learn to function effectively as adults. The school is located in a residential setting and maintains small classes with a no-homework policy.

We are seeking an English Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year.

Summary Responsibilities:

· Develop lesson plans and instructional materials utilizing course of study adopted by Clearway High School and approved by the Department of Education

· Provide individualized and group instruction in order to adapt English curriculum to the needs of each student

· Implement instruction with a variety of appropriate educational, enrichment and recreational activities

· Adhere to student IEP’s seeking support and guidance as needed

· Accurately evaluate students’ academic and social growth

· Maintain an encouraging, supportive and intellectually stimulating classroom atmosphere

· Provide weekly updates for special education students to Director

· Attend IEP meetings as requested

· Attend and participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with concentration in English or Special Education

· Experience working with at-risk teens

· Certified or certifiable by the State of NH Department of Education.
