Engineering/Maintenance Manager - Arizona Biltmore, A Waldorf Astoria Resort

The Arizona Biltmore is looking for a talented Engineering Manager to help lead the team at this historic Waldorf Astoria property!

Located in the heart of uptown Phoenix since 1929, this gorgeous 39-acre property has 700+ rooms, villas and cottages, over 315,000 square feet of banquet space, and 8 food and beverage outlets. Fresh off of a much anticipated multi-million dollar renovation, this is an exciting time to join the leadership team at this iconic property.

The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of Engineering supervisory experience in the hospitality sector, superb communication skills, and stellar follow up with a keen attention to detail. Large hotel experience is required, and luxury hotel experience is a huge plus!

What will I be doing?

As Engineering Manager, you would be responsible for assisting the Director and Assistant Director of Property Operations with overseeing the functionality and safety of the facility to protect the well-being of all guests and team members in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Manages the functionality and safety of the facility, including the physical building/s, mechanical equipment, electrical system/s, heating and cooling systems and life safety systems in accordance with local, state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Assigns work, supervises staff and verifies and documents the completion of all routine maintenance and repairs in the property maintenance management system.
  • Directs outside contractors, communicates with city officials and inspects quality of work by staff.
  • Responds and coordinates responses to guest calls and emergency situations.
  • Assists in the maintenance of the grounds as needed.
  • Interviews, trains, supervises, counsels, schedules and evaluates staff.
