We are currently recruiting a dayshift Engineering Tool Technician; a technical professional who works with the new product development (NPD) engineering team to develop, document, and improve the manufacturing processes.
This position will perform new product development tooling set-ups, including new tool installation with development activities supporting Engineering on projects and machine preparation to support secondary operations activities. Aids in the troubleshooting and resolution of production problems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- NPD new tool and machine set-ups, including troubleshooting and adjusting to support engineering development projects. (Review, modify or make recommendations for die adjustments, CNC programs etc.) 50%
- Work with maintenance and process engineering to troubleshoot and repair system failures 10%
- Collect and enter data as needed to support procedures and engineering tests 10%
- Document procedures and create work instructions as needed 10%
- Train employees on using technical equipment (Automation, CNC and other custom machines) 10%
- Trainer for LOTOTO and other items as needed 5%
- Perform other duties as required 5%
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Two years of previous manufacturing experience preferred.
- Some college or special training in mechanics preferred.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
- Good communication and English skills (both verbal and written).
- Basic machining skills & machine shop equipment experience is necessary.
- Working experience with SolidWorks, CAD, and blueprint reading & creating ability.
- General understanding of how the equipment works.
- Ability to handle tedious tasks.
- Ability to work with others and alone.
- Well organized with basic to moderate knowledge of computers (Outlook, Word, & Excel)
- Basic to moderate knowledge and hands-on use of PLCs (which may include timer changes or ladder updates).
- High level of mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read and interpret documents (written in English) such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
