Hourly Rate: $22.60 - $28.30

Responsible for direct customer service to process requests for new service and other directives associated with engineering and construction projects within a fast-paced office environment. Work includes a high volume of customer contact via telephone and email, data entry, managing spreadsheets, and departmental documentation management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Originates and processes consumer applications for new construction or service. Provides applicants necessary information pertaining to procedures and requirements relative to the line extension, service upgrade, and/or interconnection of electric service including rate schedules and service connection specifications. Issues service orders to install (or remove) meters, as required, as proper releases are received from inspectors, and customer accounts are established in good standing. Maintains accurate location and account information regarding rates, cycles, and devices. Coordinates with contractor to manage installation and invoicing of secondary lateral services. Assists other Engineering Services staff members to balance workload as volume of requests are received. Manages the refunds of tap fees in a timely manner.

Minimum Qualifications of Position: High school diploma or equivalent certificate required. At least one year of customer service experience. Proficient with Microsoft Office: [Excel, Word, Outlook]. Requires valid Colorado driver's license with satisfactory driving record within Cooperative's standards.

Preferred Qualifications of Position: At least one year of customer service experience within the utility industry. Competent with position-specific software and applications.

Knowledge and Skills: Always use diplomacy and tact with others. Read, write, and speak the English language to communicate in a clear and professional manner. May require logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. provide full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Quickly comprehend new instruction of procedures and follow accordingly.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This position is full-time.
