What You Will Do:

 

 

We are seeking an Electronics Technician to support our Electrical Development Lab and EMI Test Chamber! In this role, you will be part of our Electrical Design department and work with the product design team to develop and test avionics products for Astronautics Corporation of America. You will work closely with engineers to support new product development for avionics products, including electronic flight instruments and avionics servers. Your role would include designing, constructing, and operating test equipment. Electro-Magnetic Interference (EMI), Acceptance Test Procedures, Optics, and other types of testing could also be part of your future as an Engineering Lab Technician.

This on-site position is located at our Headquarters in Oak Creek, WI. You will report directly to the Manager of the Electrical Lab.

 

How You Will Do It:

 

 

  • Work closely with engineers to support new product development for avionics products, including electronic flight instruments and servers.
  • Testing and monitoring electronic hardware products with special attention to detail and processes. This includes engineering development and integration, DO-160 EMI and environmental compliance, hardware and systems verification, and robustness testing.
  • Maintain technical logs, records, databases, test results, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex electronic assemblies down to the component level.
  • Witness/coordinate testing at outside test houses as required.
  • Perform mechanical assembly of products using standard hand tools.
  • Hand-solder surface mount components onto printed wiring boards.

 

What We Look For:
Required

 

  • Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Associate’s Degree in Electronics or another related program from an accredited institution (recent graduates are encouraged to apply).
  • Must be able to read and interpret electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
  • Must be able to use basic Engineering Laboratory equipment (digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc).
  • Must have technical writing and communication skills.

 

Desired

 

  • EMI chamber testing experience.
  • Strong ability to analyze data and communicate results within a team setting.
  • Familiar with PC-based software tools (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Access, etc.). Knowledge of desktop and laptop computers, including troubleshooting and repairing malfunctions and installing software and drivers.
