Tesla is in search of a highly motivated and self-driven Controls Engineering Technician who possesses exceptional aptitude for electrical and PLC troubleshooting. This role is integral to the ongoing advancements of our automation equipment which is a cornerstone of General Assembly operations. The Cybertruck production line is a highly automated ecosystem, with multiple equipment pieces orchestrated by a Siemens PLC systems.
- Collaborating with various Engineering teams, the Controls Engineering Technician will establish and ensure standardized work procedures for troubleshooting and validating automated equipment
- As the chosen candidate, you'll adeptly troubleshoot and maintain an array of components, including PLCs, safety devices, HMIs, Servo Drives, VFDs, robots, and process hardware
- With a broad scope, the Controls Engineering Technician will contribute across all lines of automated equipment, providing crucial support to maintenance, new product integration, IT Manufacturing, process engineering, and equipment engineering
- Minimum of 1 year hands-on experience as a Controls Technician in a high-volume manufacturing/industrial environment, or equivalent technical certificate/degree
- Expertise in reading and interpreting wiring and pneumatic diagrams for effective troubleshooting
- Familiarity with SCADA systems, particularly Ignition
- Solid foundation with programming Siemens PLCs
- Familiarity with SEW systems and VFDs
- Demonstrated proficiency in resolving network issues, encompassing profinet and ethernet troubleshooting
- Working knowledge of network tools like Proneta, familiarity with vision systems like Cognex and ISRA, experience with robotics platforms such as KUKA and FANUC
