Automotive Engine Remanufacturing – Engine Assembly and Test
No Experience Required
Starting Pay: $17.60/hour and up to $19.10/hour potential (with earned MONTHLY bonuses)
Schedule: 1st SHIFT ONLY!
Monday – Thursday 6 am – 4:30 pm (10 hours)
Some Friday work as needed
NO SATURDAYS! NO SUNDAYS!
Job Description:
As part of our continued growth, we are seeking candidates interested in Engine Assembly and Test and we’ll provide all the training you need to succeed! LKQ Corporation is the leading provider of alternative and specialty parts to repair and accessorize automobiles and other vehicles. At LKQ Reman Springfield, we specialize in the remanufacturing of automotive engines.
Duties may include the following responsibilities within an assigned cell: operation by systems and procedures within the cell and to health and safety requirements, handling of material and waste between processes, quality of own work/ product, daily housekeeping and preventative maintenance within the cell, participation in daily cell meetings and in continuous improvement activities, participation in cell design and controls, support the cell leader in maintenance of documentation, filling in for cell leader when necessary, and cross-training within the cell.
Duties may include but are not limited to performing various assembly operations on a variety of parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies, setting up and operating complex machines, and using precision measuring equipment to determine tolerances. Operations may include but are not limited to assembling, cleaning, checking, inspecting, material handling, repairing, diagnosing, disassembling, gauging parts, polishing, plug-in, painting, testing, packaging, and torque control. This position may perform other duties as assigned or fill in for others in the department or other departments as needed or requested. May train or instruct fellow workers regarding duties.

Requirements
Requirements:
No engine experience is required! We provide the training.
Education:
Ability to read and write. This is verified through the employment process.
Experience/ Skills:
No previous experience with engines is required. We provide on-the-job training.
Equipment Used:
May use various handheld tools, pneumatic and electric tools, hoists, precision measuring devices, polishers, pallet jacks, and Test machines.
Safety/ Safety of Others:
Must wear all company-required personal protective equipment in required areas. Care is necessary to avoid placing self and others in an unsafe environment.
Quality of Work:
Provide quality products and services to meet the needs of both internal and external customers. Quality of work impacts succeeding operations.
Physical Demand:
Requires continuous physical effort; short work cycles; and repetitive motion work. Standing 80%, walking 20%. Lifts, pushes, pulls an average of 80+ lb. Occasionally, 40 lb. Frequently, and 20 lb. Constantly.
Work Environment:
Exposures to atmospheric conditions, such as dust, fumes, and varying temperature extremes. Exposure to noise, various chemicals, and waste products.
