Organizational Location: These positions are located in the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Enforcement and Removal Operations, in various offices and or sub-offices.

You qualify for the GS-07 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-06 level or equivalent performing duties that include:

  • Provide clerical and administrative support to managers, supervisors, and staff members in a law enforcement program
  • Establish and review case files to determine status of proceedings and taking appropriate action to close out the file or direct onward
  • Prepare a variety of forms, notices, documents, and legal paperwork, including warrants and records of proceedings
  • Prepare travel documents and making travel arrangements for domestic and/or international travel
  • Integrates several types of software, such as spreadsheets, databases, and work processing to generate specific working documents and forms.
  • Review bond cases to determine status and identify appropriate action to continue, cancel, or breach and submit for supervisory review.
In addition to the qualification requirements above, individuals must meet the following:
Typing Proficiency: Applicants must be able to type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample, with 3 or fewer errors. Applicants may meet these requirements by passing the appropriate performance test, presenting a certificate of proficiency from a school or other organization authorized to issue such certificates by the Office of Personnel Management local office, or by self-certifying their proficiency.

National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience):
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Current or Former Political Appointees: The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
