Contributes to the creation and development of AEP Energy Services revenue-generating opportunities through the development of external partnerships. This individual acts as a specialist of the Energy Services Business Development function in developing relationships with third parties to leverage network effects and existing relationships through the third party to generate high-quality leads and prospects for key Energy Services offerings at scale.

- Lead energy services referral engagements with third parties characterized by strong existing relationships and/or significant network effects - such as e.g., industry associations, trade groups, energy brokers, utilities, etc.
- Develop referral outreach strategy, assist in generating materials to engage with potential organizations and establish a process to effectively source new opportunities through partner relationships
- Research and cultivate new sources of high-value business relationships with large network effects to generate new energy services customer opportunities
- Develop prospective referral partner relationships through to execution of referral agreements and partner onboarding
- Actively manage established partnerships to optimize value and revenue generation
- Deliver and explain energy services programs and content to prospective organizations, referral leads and prospects and partners
- Represent AEP Energy Services at meetings, industry events, and other promotional events
- Proven success in developing and managing relationships with customers and external partners, including negotiations of terms and conditions
- Substantial cross-domain knowledge throughout the energy utility industry, including energy markets, RTO structures and operations, energy consumption patterns, and energy technologies
- Knowledge of RTO and utility programs, including demand response/load management programs
- Knowledge of renewable energy and sustainability trends and customer needs
- Experience in identifying business opportunities, leading to development and delivery to customers
- Experience conducting independent research to generate and qualify leads
