Resource Innovations is seeking an Energy EfficiencyField Inspector to perform QA & QC field audits for income-and-age-qualified utility sponsored Energy Efficiency programs. We are seeking mission driven field QA/QC professionals who reside in Virginia, preferably in the Central Virginia, Northern Virginia, or Tidewater regions. Primarily working in residential homes & multifamily buildings, this position will work closely with trade allies, customers, and internal team members to conduct QA & QC on weatherization measures, HVAC systems, water heating and lighting installations field inspections and verifications. As an Energy Efficiency Field Inspector, you will be responsible for reviewing QA/QC findings and working with our partners to identify and implement solutions. You will also conduct technical trainings with our partners and drives continuous improvement and best practices in quality processes. This position will also interact with residential solar installers and customers delivering an exciting new program.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages and implements the field and internal verification process across multiple programs and clients including the selection and review of assignments, track performance against metrics, and ensures all necessary forms are completed.
  • Conducts onsite inspections, documents inspection findings in a cloud-based system, and provides solutions to remedy failed inspections.
  • Develops and implements QA/QC requirements and implementation plans
  • Provides education, training, and coaching to trade allies to minimize failed inspections, mitigate faulty workmanship, and remedy failures when they occur.
  • Communicates effectively with trade allies, residential customers, and multifamily property owners to coordinate visits in a timely manner.
  • Leverages best practices and continuous improvement plans to implement long term solutions in partnership with the client and Resource Innovations Program Managers
  • Attends monthly meetings with the client and reports out key QA Inspection findings
  • Keeps up to date on industry trends and insights with regards to policy and procedure manuals to ensure program requirements are being met.
  • Meets regularly with Program manager to discuss field activity and trade allies’ performances to determine where improvements are needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree and 2+years’ experience in a quality control and quality assurance role, or consulting, Energy Efficiency, residential solar PV systems, or utility experience highly desired. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Knowledge of building science, construction, and technical expertise is required
  • BPI Building Analyst and Envelope certifications preferred
  • HERS and RESNET Rater Certification preferred
  • Work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to travel 50% to 75% of the time mostly in Virginia with an occasional trip to North Carolina.
  • Must be comfortable working with the public, trade allies, contractors, and property owners.
