The role you'll contribute:
The Endoscopy Associate assists the physician and RN in the performance of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, prepares and maintains the endoscopy equipment, transports the patient, assists in patient care delivery under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse.
The value you'll bring to the team:
- Prepares patients for procedures under the direction of registered nurse
- Identifies recording errors/artifacts and reacts appropriately
- Prepares room in a timely manner with all anticipated supplies and equipment for each individual endoscopy procedure
- Follows standard of practice according to Association of PeriOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) and Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA)
- Demonstrates dexterity, knowledge and safety in the care and handling of endoscopy instrumentation and supplies, both sterile and unsterile
- Follows written procedures for high-level disinfection; knows responsibilities and the necessity for chemical and biological monitoring
- Ability to display excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work flexibly in variable shifts
- Ability to participate in on-call rotations and occasionally work weekends or evenings
- Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Performs other duties as assigned

Education
- High school diploma or GED
PREFERRED:
Licensure
- Certified Surgical Technician, OR SGNA - GI Technical Specialist (GTS), OR SGNA - Advanced GI Technical Specialist (AGTS)
