Job Title:End User Computing Technician
Location: Glenview, IL - Hybrid Schedule
Job Type and Duration: Contract to hire
Looking for an experienced End User Computing Technician to join a global organization in this new hybrid role!
Description

The End User Computing Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation and security of corporate fleet of devices. This involves configuring and managing software systems to keep devices up-to-date and safeguarded against cyber threats. The role includes providing advanced support for reported issues with End User devices and you will also be involved in maintaining and supporting other End User facing technology such as conference room AV, Teams Rooms equipment, Conference room Scheduling Systems and the VoIP PBX system.
Responsibilities
  • Daily operations to maintain end-User Computing, AV, and VoIP devices.
  • Monitor and address basic deviations in overall end-user device health.
  • Managing computer system images for new devices.
  • Packaging and deploying software and updates.
  • Provide initial support for reported issues with end-User Computing, AV, and VoIP devices.
  • Escalating problems when necessary.
  • Ensuring timely and quality issue resolution.
  • Alerting management to emerging incident trends.
  • Identifying automation opportunities for efficiency.
  • Occasional off-hours support for global teams.

Position Requirements
Formal Education & Certification:
  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or information technology or 4+ years equivalent work experience.

Knowledge & Experience
  • Strong experience in a corporate IT service desk role.
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Endpoint Management principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows 10/11 configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with system image management using Microsoft MDT technology.
  • Willingness to learn about application packaging and deployment in a mixed SCCM/PatchMyPC environment.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy.
  • PowerShell scripting skills.
  • Familiarity with AV, Teams Rooms, Conference Room Scheduling and VoIP technologies.
