Job description

This position is a full-time EMT- Intermediate position with a varying schedule that could work nights, weekends, or weekdays | You would be eligible for weekly earned wage access

Job Summary: As an EMT Intermediate, you will administer basic and advanced life support care to sick and injured persons as directed by physician(s). You will assist the Paramedic with assessing the nature and extent of illness or injury to establish and prioritize medical procedures. Transport sick and injured persons from one medical center to another. You will report to the EMS Transportation Manager.

 

Primary Tasks:

1.       Operates ambulances to transport patients to facilities.

2.       Assists the Paramedics with treatment and transportation.

3.       Administers intravenous fluids and oxygen.

4.       Performs endotracheal intubations.

5.       Evaluates a patient's condition to determine the right course of treatment.

6.       Monitors patient's condition to keep him/her stable while en route to the hospital.

7.       Maintains the ambulances in proper working condition.

8.       Creates a patient care report and takes notes of the medical treatment given to the patient.

9.       Keeps the equipment clean after use; checks and replaces damaged and used supplies and ensures decontamination of the interior of the ambulance.

10.   Other duties as assigned.

 

Required Education and Experience:

         Current Oklahoma State Department of Health EMT Intermediate License required.

         Must be adept in IV and Advanced Airway Skills

         Current BLS Certification required

        Current valid driver's license required
