EMS/Fire Training Coordinator


HIRING IMMEDIATELY

Sunstates Emergency Services is hiring an EMS/Fire Training Coordinatorin Peoria, IL. This position offers a starting annual salary of $70,000 - $99,000, depending on experience and certifications.

  • Advanced Fire Officer or Fire Officer II
  • Fire Instructor II
  • HazMat Technician
  • HazMat Incident Command
  • Rope Operations
  • Confined Space Rescue
  • EMS Lead Instructor
  • CPR Instructor


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Coordination, Delivery, and Management of EMS/Fire Training Programs
  • Supervision and Management of Firefighter Operations
  • Industrial Firefighting
  • Inspection and Maintenance of Fire Systems and Equipment


OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner.
  • Display exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Possess intermediate computer skills to operate innovative, wireless technology at client-specific sites.
  • This is considered a safety-sensitive position and is subject to?both the Company’s and the Client’s Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy, which includes: pre-employment testing, post-accident testing, random testing, reasonable suspicion testing, return to duty testing, and follow-up testing.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position typically works day shift, Monday through Friday; however, hours must be adjusted as necessary to meet training, support, and auditing requirements.
  • Develop and implement training curriculum and programs to ensure firefighter staff achieve and maintain EMS/Fire certifications required by client.
  • Maintain thorough training records for all Sunstates firefighter personnel, and audit training activities performed at client locations.
  • Coordinate with local EMS/Fire training organizations/personnel to enhance training opportunities for Sunstates firefighters.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with the local EMS/Fire community, for purposes of enhancing recruitment and retention efforts.
  • Assist with the recruitment, selection, and hiring process.
  • Review operations reports and participate in after-action meetings to identify training/equipment needs and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Respond to major incidents at client locations to provide administrative, logistical, and/or operational support. This may include fire, medical, hazardous material, and confined space emergencies.
  • May operate emergency vehicles based on assignment and need.
  • Ability to handle crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficiently.
  • Able to perform firefighting duties including advancing hose lines, fire apparatus pump operations, safely operating power tools, climbing ladders, and wearing firefighter protective gear including self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) weighing approximately 70 pounds.
  • Able to:
    • Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow, or heat
    • Occasionally lift or carry up to 80 pounds
    • Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders during shift
    • Stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time

A Firefighter may perform a multitude of duties as specified by the Post Orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The Firefighter must read and become extremely knowledgeable of Post Orders and SOP, and will be able to act quickly and efficiently according to such directives. Sun123
