Supported Solution is a small, dynamic team of creative, outside-the-box thinkers, that collaborates with government partners to provide Employment Services for Individuals experiencing developmental disabilities in King County. An integral part of our work is supporting our clients with their job search and career goals, helping them achieve independence at their new jobs through coaching and accommodation advocacy, and providing long-term support for job retention. This work looks a little different for every client, based on their abilities and support needs to reach successful employment that meets their goals.
The role of Employment Consultant is responsible for:
- Getting to know your clients through vocational assessments in the community and exploring career options that are appropriate and desirable to the client
- Performing job development activities, including networking with employers, marketing your client’s abilities, and introducing supported employment to them. In some cases, you will be carving and creating a job at a business for your client. It could also include supporting someone in a job search through completing applications and preparing for interviews. Each client is unique.
- Providing ongoing support to some clients on the job. Once a client is placed, a coach will need to support them with navigating their new workplace, connecting with co workers, building natural support in the workplace, and making sure that they understand and can be successful on the job
- Making regular and consistent case note entries into our cloud based system, documenting the detailed services provided to each client on a day to day basis
- Representing Supported Solution in a professional manner in meetings with government partners, employers, clients, and other stakeholders
- Perform the basic administrative activities spelled out in each contract as it relates to reporting, record keeping, and billing
You will be successful if you:
- Believe that everyone who wants to work can work
- Have the ability to self-direct, manage your schedule, and complete actions items specified in client contracts in a timely manner. Must enjoy working remotely and with minimal supervision
- Have two + years in successful marketing or sales experience preferred
- Have experience working with those with disabilities preferred and/or have the openness to learn about each client, their skills, and see their potential regardless of disability or diagnosis
- Understand the basics of using cloud based technology (Google Suite, Cloud Based Computing).
- Thrive in an environment that is constantly changing, is different everyday, and can get work done remotely out in the community with clients and with minimal supervision.
Must:
- Own a car, be willing to travel throughout King County (mileage reimbursement paid by Supported Solution), and carry personal liability insurance on the vehicle
- Be able to pass a Washington State Background Check to work with vulnerable adults
- Want to work with a small, dynamic team that offers the opportunity for growth
- The caseload for this position will be primarily in and around North King County
