Responsible for administrative support and assistance to the PPE/Knife Room Supervisor, employees and management as directed. Responsible for handing out all equipment to production employees as needed while adhering to guidelines set forth for the room. Excellent customer service skills required, excellent attitude and ability to work in a team environment
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following: Other duties may be assigned.
• Responsible for handing out all equipment to production employees as needed while adhering to guidelines set forth for the room.
• Responsible for preparing all items that are handed out on a daily basis (gloves, aprons, sleeves, sandpaper, etc.)
• Responsible for sorting and organizing cotton gloves, cut resistant gloves, and cut resistant sleeves after they have been washed.
• Responsible for issuing and recording all equipment to new employees as well as issuing equipment to employees who may change positions while adhering to the guidelines of the room.
• Responsible for exchanging equipment and collecting equipment no longer necessary for a production employee.
• Responsible for processing paper work and ensuring that equipment is cleaned and returned by terminating production employees and will be responsible for claiming lockers upon termination of production employees.
• Responsible for completing paperwork and tracking items in Waterwheel that are handed out or returned to the room.
• Responsible for ensuring that a clean and safe work environment is maintained throughout the shift
• Other Duties as assigned by management.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years experience in a service or inventory control environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to move about the facility. The employee is required to sit; use hands to finger; handle; or feel/hold objects; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; speak; hear taste and smell.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to climb ladders and platforms, and enter confined spaces and wear all safety equipment. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds or more.

  • Regularly exposed to cold/hot and/or humid conditions, climate extremes are found in all areas of the plant
  • Frequently works near machinery with moving parts and vibration
  • Regularly exposed to strong odors and the sight of blood
  • Regular Exposure to cleaning and sanitation chemicals, hazardous material and waste as well as fumes or airborne particles
  • Risk of electrical shock and vibration
  • Noise level in the work environment is moderate but can be loud when in the production area
