Employee Health Nurse
Reports to:Director of Nursing
$82,000.00 - $96,400.00

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Employee Health Nurse assists in the development of BNHC Employee Health Program. The role isexpected to be flexible as CDC and MDPH protocols and guidelines change at a rapid pace. The EmployeeHealth Nurse will also review immunization records and assume responsibility for other employee and internrelated health tasks such as influenza clinic and N95 Fit Testing.This is a patient facing position and noteligible for working remotely.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensures BNHC Employee Health program is compliant with OSHA, Joint Commission and CDCrecommendations. Organizes Employee Health records and proactively keeps records up to date.
  • Provides education and testing for Covid-19 for BNHC and other community members as needed.
  • Works with the Infectious Disease team and others to coordinate care across all disciplines.
  • Interest in working in Infection Control
  • Participates in Employee Health vaccine clinics and Covid-19 clinics
  • Collaborates with Human Resources and other departments. Collaborates with Infection Control team,Employee Health Committee, Compliance and Human Resources to ensure compliance with requirementsand staff education.
  • Documents all activities in EHR.
  • Other duties such as vaccine distribution and administration.
  • Ensures staff training on N95 Fit Testing and the use of N95 masks.
  • Yearly staff influenza vaccine reporting to Massachusetts Department of Public Health
  • Able to train other staff members on vaccine storage and handling. Also administration of vaccines andadministration schedules.
  • Able to function independently and under busy conditions.
  • CPR Instructor
QUALITY ASSURANCE:
  • Participates in ongoing evaluation and performance improvement activities.
  • Participates in devising, reviewing and revising policies, procedures and protocols.
  • Participates in QI projects
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Valid license as Registered Nurse in Massachusetts.
  • Knowledge and interest in infectious disease processes and immunizations including Covid-19 (preferred).
  • Bilingual preferred (Cape Verdean Creole, Haitian Creole or Spanish).
  • CPR Instructor
MINIMAL KNOWLEDGE BASE:
  • Position requires the ability to work with a wide range of staff, including multi-disciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Basic computer skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
A busy community health center located in a downtown business district. Occasional long hours may berequired.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Physical demands requiring lifting of small pieces of equipment and/or boxes not to exceed 20 pounds.
Ability to wear PPE including N-95 mask for several hours.
Some standing and working conditions in tents and trailers.
Visual acuity sufficient for frequent reading.
Hearing acuity sufficient for holding conversations with or without audio devices.

BNHC is committed to providing a safe and heathy environment for patients and staff. As a condition of employment, employees, to include new hires, are required to be fully vaccinated to include the most recent COVID 19 booster and annual flu vaccines, with the exception of those who have documented medical or religious exemptions, that must be approved by BNHC according to its protocols. Additional vaccines may be required based on the recommendation of the CDC. New hires who are not yet vaccinated for flu or COVID can arrange to be vaccinated on site.
