Job description

Essential Functions

  • Assist newly hired employees through the orientation and onboarding processes. Providing support with electronic systems, employee schedules, safety training, policy understanding and compliance.
  • Engages with employees periodically on topics such as attendance, performance, benefits opportunities, vacation schedule, or any other concerns to ensure retention of staff.
  • Maintain contact and coach new employees for up to 1 year in an effort to increase retention.
  • Collaborate with team leaders throughout the onboarding period, for the benefit of ensuring new employees receive interdepartmental support and coordination and to streamline the learning process for the new employee.
  • Conduct new employee evaluations in coordination with program leaders and on shift leadership.
  • Participate in the CSD Pillar
  • Manage and facilitate plant mentorship program
  • Coordinate employee retention and culture building activities in the facility as needed (roundtables, meet & greet activities)
  • Create and support service and recognition programs to elevate the employee experience (Years of Service, birthdays, employment milestones, qualifications)
  • Provide support and ensure communication from employee to management is open and effective.
  • Works with Managers & Human Resources on hiring process and training of team members as it relates to their onboarding process.
  • Establish timely and effective communication with management to keep them aware of important information, as well as to receive information and insights from them.
  • Utilize available data to identify areas of opportunity related to employee retention, training, and culture.
  • Recommend and implement programs to improve any identified deficiencies with regards to employee retention, training, and culture.
  • Assumes other duties and responsibilities as determined necessary and/or assigned by members of the leadership team.

Work Environment

Work will mostly be performed in a manufacturing environment however some time will be spent in an office or administrative setting. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee may be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, hot and cold work environments, and wet walking surfaces. They will be required to stand, walk, and climb up and down stairs. The employee will be exposed to the environment of all areas of the facility as well as the outside grounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.

Safety
Must have a complete knowledge and understanding of the plant safety rules including but not limited to the lockout-tag out procedure, chemical hazards and the hearing conservation program. Must have good personal hygiene and be able to practice safe work habits and work independently.
