Minimum Qualifications:
· High school diploma or advanced accounting preferred
· Office experience in Employee Benefits, insurance and payroll with accounting background preferred.
· Organized, analytical, strong attention-to-detail, computer proficient, experience with financial and employee benefit software platform(s).
Primary function:
This position is responsible for the coordination of all available Employee Benefits & insurance programs offered to the employees of the school corporation, coordination & implementation of district wellness plan and manages worker compensation claim process.
Responsibilities:
A. INSURANCE PROGRAMS FOR EMPLOYEES
1. Enrolls eligible employees into district insurance programs & monitors all employee insurance coverages for the corporation.
2. Process and forward all employee changes according to insurance carrier’s procedures.
3. Calculate and verify all insurance premium payments and produce the checks/payments from the accounting payroll system.
4. Assist corporation employees with problem resolution for all benefit and insurance offerings.
5. Provide forms and assistance to new employees and advise them of optional coverages.
6. Prepare employee announcements regarding Employee Benefits, insurance coverages and other payroll deductions. Consult with the Chief Financial Officer, or their designee, as needed. The offerings include, but are not limited to:
a. Health and major medical
b. Life and optional life
c. Dental
d. Vision
e. Long Term Disability
f. Supplemental Insurance (cancer, short term disability, accident, etc.)
g. 125 G Plan
h. 403b
i. Health Savings Account (HSA)
j. Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
k. Health clinic access
7. Calculate and submit to Accounts Payable approved claim(s) and checks for Board approval.
8. Maintain a current insurance file for each type of available coverage and provide it to each category of employee.
9. Keep Chief Financial Officer informed regarding claims or employee problems regarding all insurance programs.
10. Coordinate the district wellness program with appropriate providers. Work directly with Chief Financial Officer to address concerns of existing programming and to evaluate the effectiveness of the program.
11. Participate in the new teacher program and present relevant information on district benefits and insurance offerings.
B. REPORTS REQUIRED
1. On a monthly basis, calculate premiums and produce checks for 12G health, 125G dental, 125G vision care, 125G cancer, 125G medical reimbursement/dependent, LTD, American Fidelity Life, and all other insurance-related items as needed.
2. Process INPRS payments within 7 days of each payroll.
3. On an annual basis process and distribute ACA 1095 forms for all employees and report such to the IRS.
4. Workforce Development quarterly reporting.
5. Workers Compensation reporting for all recordable incidents as specified by OSHA.
6. All other reports related to Employee Benefits, insurance & wellness.
C. MISCELLANEOUS
1. Complete requests for wage and salary information from lending institutions.
2. Coordinate the district worker compensation plan. Process all claims. Notify Chief Financial Officer of claim irregularity.
3. Process retiree premium payments.
4. Process COBRA notifications.
5. Record all incoming checks receivable by Crown Point School Corporation.
6. E-mail annual mandatory reminders: 403b, Privacy Rights/HIPAA, ACA notice and Medicare/Creditable Coverage
7. Notify PERF and TRF when employees leave employment.
8. Keep files in order according to retention schedule.
9. Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer and/or Deputy Treasurer.

Pay: $50,220.14 - $50,845.77 per year
