Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm

Job Summary: The Employee Accommodation Coordinator oversees and assesses requests for reasonable accommodations. Conducts initial intake and screening of requests for accommodations. Identifies, assesses, and coordinates accommodations to meet specific needs.

Additional Department Summary: Provides ongoing support to individuals with disabilities including alternative formats, physical modifications, and/or acquisition of assistive devices and technologies. Prepares related reports and maintains accurate records. Provides training on the reasonable accommodation process to enhance compliance and increase awareness. Plans, implements, and evaluates support programs and activities related to the University enAble, including but not limited to the Retaining A Valued Employee (RAVE) program.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience providing support services to individuals with disabilities and/or general Human Resources, OR a master's degree in disability/human services, special education, counseling, psychology, or social work or a related field.

Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and other applicable federal and state regulations pertaining to accommodation and accessibility to ensure compliance. Familiarity and ability to effectively work with disabled individuals and third-party sources, including local disability and advocacy groups. Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive, complex, and confidential issues and employee situations. Ability to always preserve and respect confidentiality. Adaptability/flexibility to prioritize competing demands with exceptional time management, including the ability to handle emergency situations and pressure due to the complexity of cases. Self-starter. Ability to work independently and within a team environment. Strong interpersonal customer service skills with a focus on patience and courtesy required. Dependable. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, including a keen attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills with proofreading competency. Computer skills and familiarity with software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications: Completion of ADA Coordinator Training Certification Program (ACTCP). Experience providing intake and/or accommodations, job placement, or other related services for adults that have intellectual, physical, and emotional disabilities, and a background working in a higher education setting. Paralegal or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). Knowledge of various alternative formats, assistive devices and technologies, physical modifications, etc. that enable individuals with disabilities to communicate, participate, and perform essential job duties.
