Emergency Veterinary Technician Or Assistant

Reidsville Veterinary Hospital is searching for a Registered Veterinary Technician or highly skilled Vet Assistant to cover weekend emergency hours (3p - 12a) at our highly skilled, multi-doctor hospital.

Who we’re looking for?

To uphold our positive hospital culture and ensure new hires mesh nicely with our close-knit team, we’re looking for technicians who prioritize teamwork, are easygoing and detail-oriented, and have a well-rounded technical skill set. This role will primarily be responsible for assisting our doctors on emergency shifts.

• Assisting with emergency appointments
• Anesthesia induction and monitoring
• Vaccine and medication administration
• Blood draws and IVC placement
• Pharmacy duties, lab work, and drug calculations
• Microscopic evaluation
• Outpatient procedures
• Client communication and education
• Assisting throughout the hospital as needed (front desk, kennels, cleaning, etc.)
• Willing to learn canine reproduction is a plus!

What benefits do we offer?

• Competitive pay: RVTs $20 - $24/hour based on experience, VAs with at least 5+ years of experience (including some emergency) $18 - $22/hr
• Emergency pay: $2 shift differential from 7p - 12a
• 3-day work week: Friday, Saturday, Sunday 3p - 12a
• Bonus packages available: $2,000 for RVTs, $500 for VAs with 3 consecutive years of experience
