Job Summary:
As an Emergency Veterinarian, your job duties include assessing, diagnosing, and providing critical care for an animal in a medical emergency, such as after a traumatic injury or sudden onset of a condition. You operate on animals and oversee other veterinary staff. You are also part of the recovery process, helping pet owners to understand medicine and recovery strategies.

We will offer a wide variety of Emergency Services, including maintaining the only overnight Emergency Hospital in the greater Rochester Area.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· May supervise and train veterinary students and other staff members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Comprehensive patient work ups
· Client communication and education
· Referring veterinarian communication
· Diagnostic procedures & surgery
· Medical Record Responsibilities
· Pharmacy duties
· Promotes teamwork & staff efficiency
· Financial responsibilities
· Continuing Education Responsibilities
· Other duties may be assigned as the need arises
Education and Experience:
- Veterinarian degree (DVM) from accredited college or university and current New York veterinary license. Must demonstrate desire to continue learning in veterinary care and participate in leading staff training.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of standing, reaching, bending, and lifting.
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
