In 2016, MacQueen became an authorized Pierce fire truck dealer, and MacQueen Emergency was born. Today we sell, service, and support fire apparatus and other life-saving emergency equipment for fire departments across our territory. We also acquired two long-standing companies - Bell Equipment and 5 Alarm - to bolster our network.

Position Purpose:
Responsible for traveling to customer sites to perform a variety of services including inspection, preventative maintenance, and repair work, on a wide range of fire apparatus equipment. A positive and customer focused attitude is required.

  • Schedule all work to make the most efficient use of travel time and minimize multiple trips to one location
  • Complete repairs on customer equipment in a timely manner
  • Act as an ambassador of the company at all times when in the field
  • Assist in growing the MacQueen presence assigned service territory by:
  • Making sound maintenance and repair recommendations to customers (through inspections)
  • Building strong customer relationships
  • Collaborating with the Unit Sales team as well as the Customer Support team on various customer focused efforts
  • Builds knowledge of dealer supported product lines, service standards, and procedures and keeps abreast of all changes in various models of equipment sold and serviced by the distributor
  • Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with Service shop and Factory standards
  • Basic testing knowledge of all machine systems
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures
  • Develops and employs diagnostic related reasoning skills
  • Examine the equipment to determine if additional mechanical or safety related or service work is required
  • Assists in the collection of data necessary for efficient inventory control
  • Attends local, regional, national service schools and training sessions as requested
  • Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe working environment at customer job sites
  • Maintains and cares for tools, equipment, and vehicles
  • Completes all paperwork required for jobs
  • Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins
  • Maintains close, positive working relationships with service, parts and administrative personnel
  • Conducts himself / herself at all times in a manner which will retain a good opinion of the company and the service department
  • Performs as directed by the Service Management
  • Responsible for operating customer equipment, when required, in a safe manner
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures
  • Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes

Requirements
  • Minimum 2 year Diesel Technology, Automotive Technology or Heavy Equipment Technology degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of experience working on hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems or heavy equipment maintenance experience in field preferred
  • Welding and cutting torch experience
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
  • Works in an efficient and effective manner
  • Organizational skills with ability to effectively manage multiple projects
  • Must have excellent external and internal customer service and communication skills
  • Contributes to departmental and product line goals
  • Must be personable, highly motivated, a problem solver, reliable, ethical and able to adapt to all forces around them from customers, suppliers, coworkers and manufacturers
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Requires a valid drivers license and CDL health card, possess or have ability to obtain a CDL B rating and the ability to maintain an insurable driving record
  • Opportunities to perform a wide variety of duties each day in a fast-paced environment
  • Requires prolonged standing with periodic lifting, walking, standing, bending, stooping and stretching
  • Requires ability to push, lift, pull and/or carry 50 lbs. or more
  • Be authorized to work in the USA
  • Must be able to travel up to 100%
