The Violence Intervention and Prevention Department is actively hiring a full-time Emergency Shelter Advocate & Case Manager to join our Perry County team. This position is a 37.5 hour work week and provides immediate interventions and supportive services for those fleeing domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. The Emergency Shelter Advocate & Case Manager will also provide support to the transitional housing program and residents, offering supportive services and time-limited interventions. Hours for this position: Sunday-Thursday 10 am to 6 pm.
Qualified Candidates possess:
- Associate's degree in human services or related field with prior-related work experience; Bachelor's degree preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
- Ability to work independently, utilizing sound judgment and following departmental procedures to respond to crisis clients in a professional manner
- Ability to balance assigned tasks and priorities on a daily basis
- Advanced communication skills (written and verbal), proven de-escalation skills, interpersonal skills and time management skills
- Prior experience providing one-on-one supportive services and/or case management to those in crisis or with trauma histories
- Knowledge of Perry County resources and services a MUST
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel)
- Valid driver's license, clean driving history and reliable personal vehicle. Proof of insurability may also be required.
- Current FBI, criminal and child abuse clearances or the ability to obtain required.
