There are many local county marinas and state parks in the area, such as Cumberland Falls State Park that is the location of the 2nd largest waterfall in the eastern U.S. and is one of only a few known locations in the world where moonbows regularly appear.

Facility services include complete cardiac care, a neurosurgery program rated among the best in the nation, a complete clinical laboratory, 24-hour Emergency Medicine care, Intensive Care Units, Surgical Services and Diagnostic Imaging. Specialized service offerings include Women's Health, Pediatrics, a Level II neonatal nursery, Cardiopulmonary Care and Behavioral Health. With a staff of more than 1,200 personnel, Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital is home to more than 170 physicians representing 38 different specialties.
