Emergency Medical Technician

Overview

Centurion is proud to be the provider of comprehensive healthcare services to the Idaho Department of Correction.

We are currently seeking a full-timeEmergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our team at at Idaho State Correctional Institution located in South Boise, Idaho.

Responsibilities

The EMT is responsible for gathering patient vital signs, obtaining specimens, performing ordered treatments, and applying dressings. Additional responsibilities include working closely with a multidisciplinary team to monitor patients and recognizing and documenting the signs and symptoms of medical needs warranting additional professional expertise and notifying the appropriate medical staff of changes in patient’s condition, reaction to medications and/or treatments, and of other significant incidents.

Qualifications

• Provide basic first aid
• Initiate CPR for an unconscious patient
• Use emergency equipment (AED, ambu bag, O2, O2 monitor, etc)
• Utilize emergency measures to stop bleeding (ie: tourniquets)
• Transport the resident to the facility ER for further evaluation
• Perform EKG and obtain Vital Signs
• Initiate IV and fluids as ordered by medical provider*
• Initiate 9-1-1 services
• Safely utilize the ambulance and stretcher
• Complete Medical and Mental Health Screening
• Document all services provided for each encounter
• Complete incident reports as required by Security

Available Shift

Shifts are 12 and a 1/2 hours (1/2 hour for lunch). 3 shifts 1 week/4 the next. Swap is every other Wednesday. Must include either Saturday or Sunday.
