What you will do:
Work 36 hours each week, Monday-Friday
Every third weekend rotation
Hours are between 6:00 pm-6:00 am, hours may vary based on department need **3, 12 hour shifts per week. Will work two weekends out of 6 week rotation** - Nights
Provide quality and consistent communication with appropriate EMS teams
Shift Differentials: PM: $1.00, Night: $2.00, Weekends: $1.50

What you will need:
High school diploma or equivalency
1 year experience in using multiline telephones, radio dispatching equipment, and computer aided dispatching systems
Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) within one year of hire
Ensures Medical Communications function(s) are consistently maintained during all hours of operation; Provides medical dispatch of ground and air medical transportation services, works in collaboration with ARCC staff, hospital department representatives, physicians and leadership teams to foster relationships with referring facilities, physicians, and hospital staff around the concept of patient transfers. The position works closely with staff at all levels within organizations served to identify, trend, report, and overcome barriers to patient throughput or transfer processes.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Receives requests for emergency and non-emergency transportation by radio, telephone, and computer system.
2. Dispatches appropriate ground and air ambulance resources according to protocol.
3. Records and documents activities relating to dispatching of ground and air ambulance resources.
4. Monitors public safety activities within Tri-State Ambulance service area through monitoring of radio systems and working with outside agencies (e.g. 911 centers) to maintain awareness of public safety activities in the area, which may require EMS response.
5. Maintain knowledge of service area of ground and air ambulance services being dispatched.
6. Assist with data entry and record keeping to support quality improvement activities.
7. Professionally manages the MedLink Referral Provider Service utilized by referral providers for patient consultation, transfer, or referral appointment requests
- Facilitates efficient communication between referral providers and Gundersen physicians.
- Works closely with clinical departments to facilitate the appropriate scheduling of patients referred to Gundersen from regional providers.
8. Train new staff as appropriate.
9. Performs other job-related responsibilities as requested.
Education and Learning:
REQUIRED
High School Diploma or equivalency
Work Experience:
REQUIRED
1 year experience in using multiline telephones, radio dispatching equipment, and computer aided dispatching systems.
DESIRED
1 year experience dispatching ambulances, police and/or fire units, and previous patient-care ambulance experience. Experience as Emergency Medical Dispatcher (APCO, Medical Priority), First Responder, or Emergency Medical Technician.
License and Certifications:
