Job description

About the Position: Serves as Chief of the Emergency Management Program, directing the activities of Emergency Management and response Corps employees involved in emergency operations.
Salary list is Rest of US, salary will vary based on location selected on. General Schedule (opm.gov)
Duty location will be based on location selected during the application process-USACE Office locations. In order to qualify, you must meet the requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience GS-12: One year of specialized experience which includes serving on a response team preparing for activation to provide assistance during hazardous events or national disasters; provide technical analysis of systems such as transportation, water, navigation, utility, structural, and other infrastructure; monitor approved budget for required updates; utilize software packages such as electronic mail, calendars, word processing, presentation documents, spreadsheets, and financial systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-11.
Specialized Experience GS-13: One year of specialized experience which includes leading the development of plans or projects designed to improve the efficiency or productivity of an organizations' Emergency Management program; monitoring development of a budget or segments of a budget; administering emergency-related activities during periods of high stress and crisis situations; and utilizing software packages that include electronic mail, calendars, word processing, presentation documents, spreadsheets, and financial systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-12.
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
