Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas serves the communities of San Diego's coastal North County. Join our Scripps Encinitas team of Emergency Services. As an Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech), you will support Emergency Department or urgent care by performing basic emergency medical procedures as directed under supervision, assists nurses and physicians in the performance of their functions.
• You will perform assessment of vital signs, thermal applications, non-sterile soaks, application of simple dressings and splints, stool and urine collection.
• You will also prepare patients for examinations/treatments including draping patients, opening sterile supplies, set up and removal of IV's.
• Assist in collection of patient history and ensures confidentiality of records, as well as, clean and prepare rooms between procedures including changing of bed linens and restocking of room supplies.
• You may transport patients and/or provide coverage for the unit secretary.
This is a Full-Time (72 hours per pay period) varied 12-hour varied shift with a rotating schedule that may include weekends.
Qualifications
Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:

• Certified CA state issued EMT (EMT, AEMT or Paramedic) or CNA
• BLS Healthcare Provider Certifications through American Heart Association

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:

• One (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting
• Experience in emergency services
• EMT certification
