Summary:
Develop and maintain Embedded Systems to control electro-mechanical systems. This role may include mentoring of junior or less experienced Embedded Systems Engineers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Initiate and implement new products and technology, product design changes and/or improvements to existing products.
  • Design, develop and prototype custom embedded solutions.
  • Develop embedded C++ code in support of system needs and requirements.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software related issues.
  • Contribute to team planning and provide cost/schedule estimates.
  • Build and test prototypes and validation of PCB designs.
  • Coordinate and manage implementation of electronic board design and software development.
  • Work safely with high voltage systems/electronics.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify system requirements.
  • Investigate and resolve field problems of related products.
  • Communicate with vendors on requirements and materials needed for project completion.
  • Facilitate and participate in project reviews and meetings.
  • Perform other duties as needed and assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must have a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or other related degree.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an Embedded Systems Engineer in an OEM Design environment.
  • Must have demonstrated experience and proficiency with C (C++ strongly preferred) in a real time embedded environment.
  • Must have Analog (small signal) and Digital (Embedded Systems) design experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with utilization of communication protocols including CAN, UART, I2C, SPI.
  • Must have the ability to use common electronic test equipment such as DMMs, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, function generators, etc.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must possess valid state drivers license.
  • Must be fluent in English.
  • Must be able to pass background check, drug test and reference checks.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Electro-Mechanical control systems and/or Refrigeration control systems experience
  • Experience developing on Cortex-M series processors with external RAM/FLASH.
  • Knowledge and experience using any RTOS.
  • Experience with product level environmental stress testing and life-cycle testing.
  • PCB design experience

Physical Demands:
  • This position primarily works in a combined office / lab environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This position may be required to work in manufacturing areas as needed.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • The employee may travel in support of project or business initiatives, typically less than 10%.
