SciTec, Inc. is a dynamic small business with the mission to deliver advanced sensor data processing technologies and scientific instrumentation capabilities in support of National Security and Defense. We support customers throughout the Department of Defense and U.S. Government in building innovative new tools to deliver unique world-class data exploitation capabilities.

SciTec has immediate opportunities for talented engineers to support programs focusing on development of software and firmware for System on a Chip (SoC) - ARM/FPGA processing engines at our Los Angeles, CA location. We are looking for experienced developers to join a fast-growing team dedicated to developing embedded architectures including software, middleware, and hardware drivers.

Responsibilities

  • Adapt existing image and signal processing C++ and python code base for hardware accelerated payload signal processing on space-hardened FPGAs.
  • Develop software for complex processing algorithms using both open source and internally developed libraries and APIs.
  • Support the development of kernels and drivers for ARM Linux-based operating systems.
  • Build new tools for performance testing, debugging, and benchmarking.
  • Work with Industry partners to develop, document, and support integration testing.
  • Document algorithm requirements, designs, and performance metrics for presentation and reporting to Industry partners and government customers.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

The following minimum qualifications are required for this position:

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or related field
  • Proficiency with software development using C++ in a Linux development environment
  • Professional experience with FPGAs, embedded programming, and Xilinx platforms
  • Experience using C++, python, and shell scripts for testing and validation
  • Demonstrated communication and presentation skills
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance
  • Detail oriented
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Candidates who have any of the following skills or experience will be preferred:

  • Advanced degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or related field
  • Professional software development experience, particularly across multiple languages
  • Professional firmware development experience, particularly across multiple platforms
  • Working knowledge of VHDL/Verilog, HLS, Yocto, or Petalinux
  • Scientific computing, simulation, machine learning, parallel processing, networking interfaces
  • Experience with the exploitation and analysis of OPIR, E/O, SAR, Spectral, RF, or other remotely sensed data
  • Experience with presenting data to customers and other stakeholders
  • A current Department of Defense or Department of Energy security clearance

Due to the classified nature of the projects, fully remote work is not an option, although we do offer flexible work-from-home when possible.

The pay range for this position is $81,224 - $199,264 / year. SciTec considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills. This is not a guarantee of compensation.
