Email Marketing Associate

The Opportunity:

Email & SMS marketing efforts at Belong are designed to inspire engagement, increase retention and reactivation, and drive new customer acquisition.  As the Email Marketing Associate, you will play an instrumental role in the day-to-day execution, management, reporting and optimization of Belong's email & text message marketing campaigns for customer acquisition & retention. This position requires strong organizational, execution and analytical skills, and a strong desire to learn all aspects of email & SMS marketing including ESP infrastructure, campaign building, email design, deployment and deliverability. Here is an outline of the key responsibilities for an Email Marketing Associate:

Who You Are:

• Detail Oriented: High attention to detail with ability to track multiple streams of work and conversations, QA email send details and URLs, and ensure that all emails are error free.
• Great Communicator: Generally keeping everyone up to speed and providing visibility into email & SMS plans and sends.  Ability to work cross functionally with stakeholders to develop plans and briefs, and solicit input to incorporate into email sends.
• Insightful: Considers the member point of view and uses key consumer insights to meaningfully influence the Email Marketing calendar and email briefs.
• Data-Driven/Analytical: High mathematical aptitude, and ability to quickly interpret and understand data and to translate campaign results into meaningful business insights.  Should be extremely comfortable in excel, and using algebra to draw insights from large data sets.  

Technical: Comfortable reviewing HTML code and strong understanding of basic web analytics tools, tracking pixels, and web interfaces.

What You'll Own:

• Campaign Planning: In collaboration with multiple stakeholders across the company this person will make updates to the campaign calendar, write briefs with clear goals, audience segments, and test plans in mind, solicit input on future sends from across the organization, and manage the pre-send checklist for campaign emails.
• Creative Development: Review email briefs with the creative team, run creative review meetings, consolidate feedback from multiple stakeholders and deliver to the creative team, and act as the project manager to lock creative by specific deadlines. 
• Email Production: Perform necessary steps to build and prepare emails for send, including uploading images, adding tracking links to URLs, building modules according to annotated mocks, uploading HTML to customer.io, QAing emails to check for errors on multiple devices and ISPs, and scheduling sends and AB tests. 
• Analytics & Reporting: Run post-campaign analysis & synthesize findings. Manage ongoing maintenance of excel & Looker dashboards with results.  Maintain an active pulse on program performance and test results, and keep the rest of the company informed of meaningful trends.

Experience You'll Need:

• 1-2 experience in a fast paced corporate office setting
• BS/BA degree in Marketing, Communications, Economics, Business, or related field
• Exceptional project management skills; experience working cross functionally with Creative and Product teams a plus
• Strong writing skills, insightful, creative eye, and outstanding attention to detail
• Working knowledge of HTML and CSS --- SQL a plus
• Extremely organized, dependable and self-motivated with the ability to excel in a hands-on, fast paced environment
• Able to work independently with direction and have the ability to deal with a wide range of personalities
• An eagerness to learn about new business models and tackle strategic issues
• A great attitude and sense of humor

Working schedule: 

• 9:30am ET - 6:30pm ET
