Safety & Health Specialist - MRM

Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a S&H Specialist to support Mineral Resource Management (MRM) Drilling Services group across NGM. The successful candidate will acclimate themselves to the work environment and perform duties related to the Occupational Health and Safety Profession.

Responsibilities:
- Act as a technical advisor and mentor to the site-based Drilling Services teams while working with Chief Drill Services to develop and implement strategies to control immediate risks in the workplace and find solutions to complex S&H problems.
- Participate in and schedule internal S&H inspections and audits to identify conditions, behaviors, corrective action implementation/compliance, and/or training related corrective actions and needs.
- Implement a Planned General Inspection program within MRM Geology and Drilling Services to increase safety awareness and participation within the group.
- Work with all employees and staff to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and company S&H standards and systems.
- Accompany division management along with MSHA and State inspectors during inspections.
- Act as lead for all incident reporting and investigations, make sure all incidents are properly reported to site management teams immediately.
- Serve as a resource or facilitator for incident investigations; TapRoot, ICAM, 5 Why, or Fishbone analysis to ensure that all incidents are accurately investigated to determine root cause. Play a meaningful role in the development of effective correction actions to prevent recurrence of safety incidents or industrial hygiene exposures.
- Maintain accurate documentation and data entry in databases.
- Assist with health testing and industrial hygiene activities as needed.
- Assist in Team Based and Formal Risk Assessments by facilitating, developing, and monitoring action plans.
- Maintain and sustain active involvement with site-based safety teams, committees.
- Provide mentorship and support to all employees.
- Actively participate in toolbox meetings, safety meetings, and other training sessions.
- Develop and instruct MSHA topics during New Hire Orientation, Annual Refresher Training, and Business partner Hazard Training and Introduction to Work Environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree and six (6) years' of experience in industry preferred
- Bachelors Safety Degree and three (3) years' of experience preferred
- Experience in at least 2 divisions within mining (a year per division) preferred
- 5 - 10 years' of experience in industry with proven/demonstrated Leadership in Safety preferred
- MSHA Blue card holder required
