About Our Job
What We Offer
The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. Although the full salary range for this position is posted, the target salary range for this position is $22.76- $28.45. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

Location
The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. In this position you can expect to work in office 3 days a week at the Denver Castro Building, Arie Taylor Building, or East Building. Employees may also work at Neighborhood sites. Training will be held at the Denver Castro Building. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.

Through our Economic Resilience (ER) Division, Denver Human Services seeks to engage residents in strengthening economic well-being and mobility across their lifespan. By leveraging the resources of Denver Human Services’ programs and a network of community partnerships, Economic Resilience provides a holistic approach to service delivery in order to assist customers in the ability to foresee crisis as well as adapt to and leverage changing life conditions to their advantage. The Economic Resilience Division is comprised of the following program areas: General Assistance, Burial Assistance, SNAP to Success (Formerly Employment First), Low-income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP), RTD Live, Trash Rebate Program, Property Tax Relief, Childcare Assistance Program (CCAP) and Colorado Works.

The Economic Resilience Division is seeking a Childcare Assistance Program Professional to support our Childcare Assistance Program (CCAP). All positions in Economic Resilience will provide holistic and trauma informed case management to customers as it relates to specific job functions and duties. This position is aligned with the agency’s Strategic Framework to support equity and access, connectivity and economic resilience of our customers and community partners. The selected candidate for this position will work with internal partners in Economic Resilience, DHS, State partners as well as other counties.

Specifically, as the Childcare Assistance Program Professional you will:
  • Determine eligibility for new Low-Income applicants and Colorado Works families seeking Childcare Assistance from intake to ongoing status
  • Learn and use the Childcare Automated Tracking System (CHATS), Colorado Benefits Management System (CBMS), and Work Management System (WMS) to ensure eligibility is determined in a timely and accurate manner
  • Provide world class customer service in all client interactions
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Note: This role may also be deployed to support emergency operations throughout the city of Denver as needed. Emergency operations can include supporting shelter operations, emergency food distribution, responding to natural disasters and/or community needs throughout metro Denver.

Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:
  • Proven professional experience with high-volume direct contact customer service
  • Proven ability to multitask while navigating multiple systems while supporting customers
  • Previous work within Human Services or within a Government Agency is a plus
  • Previous high-volume data-entry experience
  • Ability to read, understand, interpret, and apply complex regulations
Required Minimum Qualifications
  • Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
  • Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of technical/specialized clerical experience, including one year of experience determining eligibility for public Assistance Programs
  • Education/Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
