SalaryThe Cape Girardeau Public School District is seeking a full-time Elementary Supplemental English Language Arts Teacher for the 2024-25 academic year.
The Supplemental English Language Arts teacher is responsible for providing reading support services and facilitating student activities; directly related to enhancing student reading/literacy skills or providing services/assessments required by an individualized student reading success plan.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in education
- Missouri certification: Elementary 1-6 or Early Childhood B-3
- Successful completion of university student teaching experience
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Excellent communications and public relations abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read, write, and speak at high levels
- Ability to establish and maintain positive effective working relationships with students, parents, staff, and the community
- Proficiency using Microsoft Excel (spreadsheets, graphs, tables), Word (reports), PowerPoint (presentations), and Google Apps (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides)
- Must be self-directed, highly motivated, and able to work independently
Preferred Qualifications:
- Missouri Certification: Special Reading K-12
- Working knowledge of professional learning communities
- 3-5 years of previous classroom teaching experience
- Completion of LETRS Training
