Job description

Elementary Ministry Pastor

River City Community Church

Selma, Texas (NE San Antonio)

We are searching for a full-time Elementary School Pastor to join our NextGen Ministry team and to partner with parents to lead students to become passionate followers of Christ. Our Elementary Ministry program currently consists of Kinder through 5th graders who meet on Sunday mornings with discipleship groups and other activities throughout the week. Worship, teaching of the Word, and small group ministry are vital parts of ministry to Elementary School students.

About Us

River City Community Church was founded in 1998 in San Antonio, as a community of believers who are committed to passionately following Jesus Christ. In 2011, the church purchased a large concert amphitheater with its associated campus and moved the church and its K-12 private Christian School to the new venue.

Our Culture & Vision

We are a "Church for Real Life" which means we value a genuine relationship with Jesus that is relevant to our day-to-day lives. Our goal is to experience the real-life God designed for us to live. We are a relational community who value teamwork and enjoy a good sense of humor, but are also passionately committed to our mission.

OurMission- "More people living Real Life by passionately following Jesus."

We love one another and serve one another with the goal of encouraging others in their relationship with Jesus. We believe this mission is applicable not only for those who attend our church, but also guides how we interact daily with our families and friends, people at work, in the marketplace, and at play.

Our Goal

Hire a highly skilled leader with previous experience in Elementary Ministry who is ready for a greater challenge in a more complex organization. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated the ability to grow a ministry significantly, supervise others effectively, and train and develop interns and volunteer leaders. Our new Elementary Pastor should have an evident passion for serving God, a vibrant personality, a dynamic speaking ability, and absolutely love kids and their families. The person selected will have the benefit of a fully staffed NextGen team, supported and mentored by our NextGen Pastor, and administrator, and interaction with Early Childhood, Junior High, and High School Pastors.

Responsibilities

1) Lead a team of staff and volunteers in the operation of a Elementary Ministry, including weekly services and special events to include VBS, camps, and engagement with families.

2) Plan and conduct biblically accurate, culturally relevant, and highly energetic services for Elementary students.

3) Create a ministry strategy for each year with clear steps to help students connect with God and others, grow in their faith, and serve God with their time and talents.

4) Foster a healthy partnership with parents in the discipleship and care of their students.

5) Work with talented NextGen Team to ensure deep discipleship across all development stages for kids, students, and their families.

NextGen Focused

Our church believes in early discipleship through consistent small group leadership starting in Pre-school all the way through adulthood. You will become part of a fully staffed and supported NextGen Ministry approach.

Full Benefits

Ministry is challenging and rewarding. At River City you are supported with full benefits, matching investments, flexible hours, generous time-off and sick leave policies, as well as continuing education benefits, and tuition assistance to our Pre-K through 12th grade christian school for your children.

Opportunities

San Antonio is the seventh largest city in the United States. Our campus is a 110-acre site outside of northeast San Antonio (Selma) near the major interchange of I-35 and 1604. The spacious, easily accessible location, in one of the United States' fastest growing markets, provides a unique opportunity for growth. Our greatest strength is the strong community which exists between the church, school, and amphitheater, which is made possible by a healthy culture of honesty, humility, and cooperation. Our church also has a Bethel University extension campus, creating a continuous learning environment for adults.
