POSITION: Elementary Classroom Teacher - Grade K

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Exhibit passion and a commitment to helping all students learn at a high level.
• Contribute to a school culture of appreciation, collegiality and innovation.
• Utilize skills to be successful with intensive collaboration in a team-based, multi-grade approach to teaching and learning.
• Create an inclusive classroom culture where all students feel they belong and are excited to learn.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of research-based Literacy and Mathematics instruction and assessment at the intermediate-elementary level, and the commitment to continue professional learning.
• Experience with Teachers College workshop model highly preferred.
• Strong communication skills with students, colleagues and parents.
• All other duties per teacher contract.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Elementary Education.
• Interventionist experience preferred. Successful candidate may either work as a classroom Teacher or as an Interventionist to assist with student learning as a result of the pandemic.
• State of Maine Department of Education Teacher Certification in General Elementary.
• Elementary level teaching experience preferred.
