Job Overview:

We are expanding our In-House Repair Team in Arlington, WA to support the growth of our business and further serve our customers. Our Repair Technicians learn the maintenance process of our medical diagnostic devices used in eye exams. This includes following all repair and inspection procedures on equipment, following manufactures’ specifications, and using designated test and analysis instruments while ensuring excellent quality control and customer satisfaction.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties (other duties may be assigned):

  • Conduct regular inspections on units following manufacturers' inspection regulations, using hand tools, power tools, or measuring devices and perform limited preventive maintenance or service, such as cleaning, lubricating, or adjusting equipment.
  • Inspect and test malfunctioning devices or related equipment and perform repairs.
  • Perform functionality tests on outgoing equipment for sale.
  • Perform equipment functionality tests after software/hardware updates.
  • Effectively document service data in ERP software, to track repair and service history.
  • Verify and update any customer data changes.
  • Conduct professional and service-oriented communication with customers or people involved when providing and processing information in response to inquiries, concerns, and requests throughout the service process.
  • Participate in ongoing training either by self-study, hands-on, or offered classroom training to maintain current knowledge of the equipment; receive training and achieve certification on additional devices as assigned.
  • Contribute to continuously developing the device maintenance standard operating procedures, by sharing knowledge (advise others on issues related to repairs, installation, or equipment design).
  • Compile repair information for the weekly report to management.
  • Direct elevated questions to higher level technicians or supervisor.
  • Follow safe storage and handling procedures of tools, chemicals, and materials.
  • Support logistics and other departments as needed.
  • Occasionally travel for customer visits, tradeshows, and training.
  • Other projects and responsibilities may be assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Certificate or Associate’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or other related field preferred
  • Prefer 2 years of equivalent work experience
  • Ability to be trained and achieve certification to complete full repair of equipment as assigned
  • Soldering experience preferred
  • Ability to read, understand and follow repair instructions / guidelines
  • Proficiency in verbal and writing communication skills
  • Prefer experience with CRM/ERP software and data entry
  • Proactive and motivated
  • Proven commitment to providing exceptional client service
  • Problem-solution oriented; ability to effectively research and comprehend complex problems, think critically, and identify creative solutions
  • Highly organized and ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Professional work ethic and demeanor
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and pay attention to details
  • Experience Microsoft Office 365 (Email, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Schedule: Monday – Friday: 7:00am - 3:30pm, 7:30am – 4pm, 8:00am - 4:30pm, or 8:30am - 5pm.

Location: Arlington, WA FacilityPhysical demands and work environment:
  • The company provides a smoke and vape-free environment on company premises for its employees, customers, and visitors.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, and use hand tools, objects or controls. Ability to work in a warehouse type environment and perform activities standing or sitting over a length of time, taking equipment apart, testing equipment in confined dark rooms, lifting up to 50 lbs., moving objects up to 100 lbs., and operating tools and equipment that require good vision and a steady hand (i.e. soldering device, etc.)
  • Ability to travel approximately 5% of time for training, customer visits, or tradeshows to set up/tear down equipment.
