Job OverviewPerform electrical repairs on equipment/facilities of a large-scale corn milling plant, with a heavy emphasis on Maintenance Reliability.
Duties and Responsibilities- The I/E Technician will diagnose panel malfunctions, calibrate, replace or repair a variety of electrical or electronic monitoring equipment such as variable frequency drives, flow meters, control valves, pH monitors and pressure and level transmitters.
- Will perform instrument maintenance, preventative maintenance as necessary, troubleshoot circuits, rewire equipment as necessary, run conduit, rebuild control valves and perform reasonably similar or related duties as assigned.
- Incumbent must be willing and able to perform minor/assist with extensive Millwright duties as assigned.
- Perform routine electrical repair projects & preventative maintenance on production equipment such as breaker boxes, motor leads and lighting fixtures.
- Assist in the installation and wiring of new/modified electrical equipment.
- Monitor plant motors and starters, checking for hot spots and completing required reports.
- Select, install and pull wiring to required equipment locations, making connections, testing circuitry and performing related installation processes of low and medium voltage to 4160V.
- Maintain accurate and thorough inventory of electrical parts and related manuals
- Perform instrumentation work
- Install, maintain, and repair plant mechanical, pneumatic and 480-volt electrical equipment
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair plant mechanical, pneumatic and 480-volt systems
- Support and comply with all food safety, quality, and legality requirements
- Other similar duties as assigned

- Must be able to operate a computer effectively
- Must be able to work individually or in a team environment
- Must be able to work overtime, weekends, holidays and on a call-in basis

- Must be flexible in accepting changes
- Able to understand and comply with plant GMP and personnel practice requirements
- Experience in CEMS is a strong plus
- CMMS experience preferred
- Strong fundamental skills (math, reading, and writing), Associate's Degree preferred
- Training in identifying and diagnosing electrical problems
- Familiarity with 3 phase electrical systems
- Knowledge of NEC code requirements
- ABC schooling is a strong plus
- 2-4 years of experience as an electrician, preferably in an industrial maintenance setting
- PLC and industrial controls experience preferred
