Responsibilities- Support all electrical infrastructure directly associated with the Philadelphia Information Technology Center (PITC), including but not limited to:
- Utility feeds to the data center
- Emergency power (generators)
- Auto-transfer and parallel switchgear
- Large UPS systems
- Critical load panels
- Step-down transformers
- Power distribution units (PDU)
- Remote Power Panel units (RPP)
- Power assemblies (varying amperage)
- Install new power whips or remove vacated whips without impact to production
- Verify new equipment is in accordance with code and as specified in the VA contract
- Perform regular inspections of electrical equipment
- Create/update/maintain documentation, such as panel schedules
- Ensure A/B (redundant) power supports every IT cabinet/rack
- Capture live readings via various mechanisms (displays, clamp, etc.)
- Must have proper PPE, as deemed appropriate by NFPA 70E, for the task being performed (flame resistant, Arc Flash Hazard Risk, etc.)
- Must adhere to all VA safety standards/requirements
- Position will require occasional work to be performed in evenings and weekends
- Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Must be able to lift and/or move objects weighing 50 lbs. or more unassisted
- Must be able to climb and balance (stairs, ladders, scaffolds, etc.)
- Must be able to work under raised floors
- Must be able to work in confined space, such as electrical vaults
- Specific vision abilities required - close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust/focus
- Must have Active Journeyman Electrician license or Electrical Contractor in the State of Pennsylvania or equivalent
- MUST have Experience working in a Critical Infrastructure Facility
- Data Center or Hospital environment
Education:
- Must have Active Electrical Contractor's License from the City of Philadelphia
- OSHA 10 and/or 30-hour Safety training certifications
- NFPA 70E Arc Flash Training
Clearance:
- The ability to pass a Tier 2/Modest Background Investigation

- Philadelphia, PA (100% Onsite)
- Monday - Friday (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM EST)
