Full Job Description Electrical Helper/Apprentice
Apprentice
- Learning and maintaining electrical standards from lead tech/foreman
- Assisting lead tech/foreman with various tasks on job site
- Utilizing tools in proper manner to execute plans laid out by lead tech/foreman
- Arriving on time with positive attitude, ready to assist and learn
- Ideal candidate seeking future career in electrician field
Responsibilities
- Must have your own vehicle to get the job sites at early start time (4am, 5am, 6am) ( Maryland, DC and Virginia)
- Executing plans of electrical wiring for lighting and power systems per instruction of lead tech
- Preparing and assembling conduits and running wire through them
- Connecting wiring to form electrical circuits and networks, ensuring compatibility of components
- Assisting in troubleshooting and identifications of hazards under lead tech guidance
- Installation of electronic controls, fixtures, sensors, and panels
- Testing of electrical systems and continuity of circuits utilizing safe testing devices
- Moving materials from drop off point to location indicated by lead tech/foreman
- Maintaining tools/equipment and keeping supplies and parts in order
- Assisting lead tech/foreman with the above, but not limited to tasks
Experience and Education
- High School diploma or GED
- Already enrolled or enrolled in IEC within 1 year of employment
- Must have valid driver’s license, and good driving record
- Must successfully pass background check
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work and have hand tools (e.g. wire strippers, screwdrivers, tester, etc.)
- Ability to safely operate power tools
- Problem solving skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects, squat, bend down, climb ladders

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour based on experience
Schedule:
- 8 hours shift
- Normal 8 hours shift can be anywhere between 4am-3pm but normally 5am-1:30pm
