Summary
The Entry Level Electrician I is responsible for supporting the maintenance department. This position will conduct our vibration readings, ultrasound, and support our infrared PM's. This is an entry-level position that requires formal electrical schooling. The Electrician I will work with our senior electricians to learn and develop into an Electrician II position. All aspects of lighting and reviewing and closing out work orders will also be part of this role.
Other expectations include the ability to perform all the other duties and tasks of the other employees within the department when required or needed. The Electrician I must also be knowledgeable and capable of following and enforcing all department and plant rules, policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Work safely and efficiently and wear the required PPE/Arc Flash safety items for each particular job, must follow all plant safety procedures for electrical work.
- Must be able to demonstrate good follow-up procedures and demonstrate the ability to perform critical checks in an appropriate manner.
- Capable of learning the responsibilities for day to day maintenance and troubleshooting of all plant equipment.
- Capable of learning to analyze and recommend repair procedures for equipment failures and demonstrating mechanical insight in recommending options.
- Help with breakdowns on both lines.
- Train to help production Start-up and shut-down equipment.
- Capable of learning to Identify and locate electrical parts.
- Complete work orders as assigned by Supervisor.
- Capable of requisitioning electrical machine parts pulled from the maintenance storerooms.
- Assist supervisor on following up or expediting vendor parts.
- Always maintains an orderly, clean and safe working area.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.

- Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of office machinery.
- Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone.
- Occasionally operate business machines.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
- Ability to read and concentrate via computer data entry typing and proofreading.

Technical knowledge/skills (entry, intermediate, advanced)
- Computer software and personal computers skills are required
- Safe forklift operation
- Understand nomenclature for industrial parts and equipment.
- Basic knowledge of some of the following...PLC's, RSLogics5, RSLogics500, RSLogics5000, HMI-Wonderware, Industrial Communications-Modbus, Profibus, RSLinx, Controlnet, DeviceNet, Ethernet, Simolink and Synchlink.
- Basic knowledge of AC, DC and Servo Drives-Allen Bradley, Siemens, Eurotherm, Pacific Scientific Drives.
- Familiar with basic electrical and lighting panels.
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Codes.
- Basic knowledge of electrical diagrams and schematics.
General knowledge/skills (entry, intermediate, advanced)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Education/Experience
- High school graduate or equivalent experience
- Industrial Maintenance certifications preferred
- 1+ years working experience in an industrial manufacturing environment or equivalent experience preferred.
