The ideal candidate for this role will be a licensed Professional Engineer with significant experience in power distribution, lighting, and system design. Experience designing electrical systems for water/ wastewater treatment facilities is helpful, but not required.

We provide multi-disciplined services for a variety of public agencies and private entities, including electrical engineering; transportation design; water resources design; environmental analysis & permitting; construction engineering & inspection; traffic engineering & transportation planning; surveying; and land acquisition & appraisal.
Our Water Resources team is involved in a wide variety of water resources projects for states, municipalities, utilities, regional sewer districts and various private entities. Initially, this role will be heavily focused on electrical engineering for water/wastewater facility projects. In addition to working with our Water Resources team, this role may support and coordinate with our other business units to assist with various infrastructure, industrial, and/or site development projects.

In this position, the candidate will:
- Serve as a technical leader and support the project manager for all electrical design aspects of water/wastewater facility projects.
- Design electrical systems for water treatment and wastewater treatment facilities. Projects may include new facilities or improvements to existing facilities - lift stations, pump stations, treatment facilities, and other related infrastructure.
- Develop detailed electrical plans, electrical system studies and calculations (load, voltage drop, lighting, coordination, arc-flash, metering data analysis) for device specification and equipment sizing.
- Develop and manage scope, schedule, and budgets for projects, in addition to acting as the point-of-contact for many clients regarding design work.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplined teams that may consist of civil engineers, technicians, and environmental specialists.
- Perform QA/QC on electrical engineering projects.
- Staying up to date with relevant industry codes and standards.
- Providing technical support, guidance, and mentorship to junior staff
- Perform related work as required.
Qualifications for this role:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer in Indiana, Illinois, or Missouri preferred.
- 5+ years of Electrical Engineering experience in power distribution, lighting, and system design. Experience designing electrical systems for water/wastewater treatment facilities is helpful, but not required.
- Proficient with electrical and controls systems design
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of current state/county standards and specifications procedures
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work individually or as part of a team
