In this role, you would directly impact the history of space exploration and your dedicated commitment and detailed attention to details would further the cause of safe and repeatable spaceflight for Blue Origin's next generation Orbital Flight Systems, including Lunar Landers, Orbital Space Stations, and In-Space Systems, and this will be a chance to leave your fingerprints on the history of crewed spaceflight.
The Electrical Harness Design Engineer is the primary responsible of developing the engineering, system interconnect diagrams (SID), block interconnect diagrams (BID), wiring interconnect diagrams (WID), integration and installation of electrical harnesses for various spaceflight systems. As an Electrical Cable Harness Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design of electrical harnesses for power distribution, RF, communication and high-speed data signal, selection of harness components and hardware, connectors, backshells, cable and wire. Also understanding and application of EMI/RFI and harness shielding, creation of 3D routed harness data files utilizing Creo (Pro/Engineer) Cabling and Routed System Designer (RSD). Creation of harness detail and installation drawings including 2D flat harness drawings from the 3D harness data sets. The design and integration of harness support brackets, support design configuration development and trade studies, provide technical guidance for hardware installation. Support the assembly and testing of cables and harnesses and maintain and report on activity schedule and technical status and find opportunities for improvements and operational cost and schedule savings.

Qualifications:
- B.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Physics, Computer, Aerospace Engineering or related technical subject area
- 5 years experience designing Wire Harnesses for the Space and/or Aerospace industry
- 5 years experience in Creating schematics, system interconnect diagrams (SID), block interconnect diagrams (BID), wiring interconnect diagrams (WID)
- 5 years experience with Creo and Windchill and Routed System Designer (RSD) or similar 3D software
- Understanding and application of wire derating analysis
- Familiar with existing applicable harness standards: IPC/WHMA-A-620A, NASA-STD-8739.4
- Strong electrical/mechanical design and integration skills using 3-D CAD software
- Experience designing and integrating electrical harnessing for spacecraft, launch vehicles, or aircraft is a must.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired
- Experience with CREO Schematics and/or ZUKEN software.
- Experience with routing and installing RF coax cable.
- Experience with other high-end CAD routing software such as Unigraphics NX Electrical and Mechanical Routing.
- Knowledge of harness fabrication and installation processes.
- Experience with launch vehicle or spacecraft electrical/mechanical systems.
