If you are an Electrical Hardware Engineering professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Shakopee, MN location, you will design and build measurement devices which are known for their precision and durability, and our customers use them to solve difficult industrial process measurement problems. 
 
We design and develop products that deliver highly accurate pressure and temperature measurement products with unmatched reliability to help customers in a variety of industries.  Our product offering includes static or differential pressure measurements, as well as intrusive or surface temperature measurements.  Our design team is responsible for the electronics that sense and convert pressure or temperature into a digital or analog value that can then be use by a control system to improve plant operations, produce the products we all rely on, and ensure the safety of workers.

IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE: 

  • Assist and/or lead new product development activities such as: circuit design, peer reviews, product qualification planning and testing; identify and use proven technologies, leverage existing product designs, create original circuit designs, and prepare required technical documentation and data
  • Apply your working knowledge of applicable technology and industry/company standards to achieve robust product designs in a team environment
  • Prepare detailed plans necessary to complete assigned projects
  • Provide occasional product technical support through reviewing and approving engineering change notifications, managing and executing cost savings opportunities, or assisting with the investigation of field applications to ensure product functionality, quality, and conformance

WHO YOU ARE:

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering 
  • Four (4) or more years of applicable experience
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:  

  • An ABET-accredited engineering degree
  • Knowledgeable in microcontroller-based board level design, schematic entry, printed circuit board design and layout, and prototype verification and testing.
  • Experience with simulation and analysis tools.
  • Track record of successful hardware system development
  • Experience with international safety and hazardous location design, including intrinsic safety
  • Familiarity with industrial digital communication protocols
  • Experience with EMC requirements and design techniques
